Palm Creek Golf & RV Resort

I know several of you that I have talked to wanted to know where we were located and what resort we were staying at so I included this page on this web site to give you a glimpse of life in Casa Grande. The Palm Creek Resort which is where we are making our home for a month is probably one the nicest in the country. Its rated as one of the top 5 resorts in the USA and we have enjoyed our stay here so far. The sites are wide, nicely graveled and well laid out with each site having its own cement patio and parking spot for the car.

This is a 55 and over resort but they do allow temporary residents to stay here if under that age. I have days I feel a little out of place as the majority of the residents are over 60. But I have to stay that despite some of the high dollar coaches in this resort, the people are friendly and very few snobs reside here. The resort is filled with things to do. Classes on everything from stained glass to sewing to wood carving and silversmithing can be found here. The resort also sports its own 3 par executive golf course along with a bocce ball area, softball field, shuffle board court, billiards room and just about everything else you can imagine. Their Olympic size pool has the capacity to hold 400 people ( not that you would want that many in there at once ) and their hot tub holds 28 people.

Security here is something they take seriously. A guard house is situated at the entrance and all temporary and permanent residents are required to wear pictured ID cards when out and about in the resort. The ID cards are issued by the resort. Its a great feeling to go to bed at night knowing you don't have to lock your bicycle up lock down all your storage doors on your coach. They simply don't tolerate thieves.

It is is truly a retirement village where the people get to where they are going by way of bikes and golf carts and of course cars. We bought two bikes ourselves and enjoy peddling around the resort. The streets are all nicely paved and the grounds throughout the resort are well manicured and taken care of. We are enjoying our stay here and really getting into the slow pace of life here. To make things even better I have made friends with a few guys here at the resort and my next door neighbor ( Tom ) is one of my favorites. He is just a quality person and I really enjoy my daily chats with him.

I will be a little sad to leave at the end of January but I am sure by then I will be ready to travel some more. I have included pictures of the resort and hope you enjoy the pictorial tour of the grounds. If your an RV'er and heading to Arizona, this place is a must stop for you. You will surely enjoy your stay here.

It would be terrible of me to not remind some of my cold weather friends and family that the weather here is about perfect. No rain, 70 plus degrees everyday, a nice gentle breeze and plenty of sunshine. What more can you ask for.

We plan on heading out and exploring some of the surrounding area. One day trip we will be making is to Mesa, Az to explore the malls, markets and other things the area has to offer. Enjoy the pictures and I will try and send some of this abundant sunshine your way.

All My best to you,

Chris
