Viva Las Vegas

Is it time to go yet ? That's about how I feel here in Las Vegas. Wall to wall people and one casino after another, traffic up the yin yang and of course the desert region once again has me looking at the calendar wondering when its time to check out of this nice resort we are staying at. Sorry folks but I am just not a casino kind of guy. I don't gamble, don't drink so what's left to do here ?  Get married ? Been there and done that twice. :) Actually let me say that the architecture of a few of these casinos is nothing short of amazing. The engineering and design is simply out of this world and I applaud them for building some amazing structures, but personally speaking I am more of a scenic kind of person myself.

The Courtyard at the Oasis RV Resort One nice feature is the Adult pool at the Oasis. This gives the adults a place to do water aerobics or swim laps without kids being in the way.
My favorite destination here at the Oasis, the hot tub. I spent nearly every night in this spa melting away the pain in my bones. The kiddies pool is a neat environment. Toys, a sandy beach area and their own pool to romp in keeps the kids happy.
This is an area at the resort where people can come to get married. It has a dining area inside as well as outside. What's a resort in Vegas without a wedding chapel. The sites are decent sized and include all your utilities, right down to telephone, Internet WiFi, Cable TV and plenty of cement to park on.

The Mirage Hotel / Casino and some of the Vegas Strip A skyward shot of the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino
The ship from Treasure Island Casino & Hotel. Each day they have 3 free performances where this ship and another   ( see right photo ) go to war and battle each other. This ship actually moves around the cove and into the " Bay " where it begins the war with the opposing ship. One of these two ships loses the battle and actually sinks. I wont tell you which one does. :)
My favorite Casino is the Venetian. It's architecture and art work is nothing short of amazing. This is a shot of the ceiling taken at the Venetian. The entire ceiling in this area is done in gold and displays pictures like this.
Another shot of the ceiling. This area is massive and the entire ceiling is composed of pictures like this while all the woodwork is all gold leafed. Its stunning. You can take a Gondola ride at the Venetian and the man serenades you as you float along the river that is inside the Venetian.

This the Venetian " Shop Village " with many high end stores. The ceiling is done in clouds and as you walk, it gives the appearance that your outside and the clouds are actually moving.
