Pine Island

Pine Island is one of our destinations when we want to just get away for a few hours but do not want to ride very far. The ride there typically takes us through Aripeka, a scenic route all by itself, then out to the road that winds its way through the glades and out to Pine Island.

At the island you find a couple beaches and a view of the Gulf Of Mexico. They also have an observation platform to stand on and look out into the distance over the Gulf as well as picnic tables and a small snack stand. Its a nice ride out there and one we always enjoy. We typically try to hit Pine Island on weekdays when we can as weekends can be crowded with sun bathers and swimmers.
