Latest News for the Month of
Sept 2006
Wow, what a difference a month makes. I know my last update is long overdue and there is allot to report so here we go.
We are on the road again and are now located in Florida. Actually we are parked in a resort in Hudson, FL which is located 40 miles north of Tampa. So what are we doing here ? Ingrid took a position teaching at a local Catholic High School and signed a one year contract. She is back to teaching Math and is also head of the Math department. We are all very proud of her and she is already off to having a fantastic year. She loves the kids and school administration and the atmosphere at this brand new High School ( this is NOT good a good thing for me by the way ). I am NOT enjoying Florida at the moment because of the heat so I am less then thrilled about being here. But that will probably all change once winter rolls around and I start getting reports from all my friends in Michigan freezing their butts off.
We are once again living in the coach and found a nice resort down the road from the High School. It wont be long before all the old geezers start coming back to FL for the winter so that will give me something to do. I have always enjoyed harassing the locals anyways, especially the seniors. :)
On the health front things seem to be going OK. My last three rounds of lab tests indicated a drop in my red cell counts which is always scary, but the one performed last Friday indicated they are starting to come back again. The latest slide looked OK. There was still some morphing of the red cells but I guess it can be expected since I have been off chemo for so long. I got my first shipment in the other day so will be starting that the first of Nov. I guess between the red cell morphing and this enlarged spleen which feels like it is the size of a basketball is a sign that it's time for the dreaded chemo injections again.
Probably the biggest news I have gotten is from an old High School buddy of mine Rob Campion ( Rob and I actually go all the way back to our Junior High School days). He did a google on my name and found my website and has since e-mailed all my other high school bud's. I am now starting to get e-mails from them and it's been a great morale booster for me. I cannot wait to get updates from all of them on their current life/ family happenings.
Just to let all of you know I finally got my "good" computer back up and running so I can start giving the web site a makeover and start posting picture's again. I was using a laptop before this and it was next to impossible to do any kind of web site work with it. Now I really do not have any excuses.
I will be back online again soon to give you all an update. I hope this finds you all well and full of life.
Be good, enjoy and be safe. More Later,
Chris
