Latest News for the Month of

August 2008

I am back in Florida and couldn't be sadder. :) I hate this State in the summer. 90 degrees everyday with   80 % humidity plus rain nearly everyday makes it a big hot, sticky mess. While I love Florida in the winter, I despise it in the summer months. I typically gripe over it for the first two weeks then forget t and get on with life. :)

We got Ally's Mum and Ruloff to the airport in Knoxville and they flew onward to Budapest, Hungary for a cruise before visiting family in Holland. They really had a great time and enjoyed themselves and we also really enjoyed having them with us. We were able to see some beautiful country together and the memories will be with us forever. A great time was had by all and we were grateful they were able to make the trip with us.

We headed to Carrabelle, Florida which is located on the Gulf of Mexico on the Forgotten Coast and camped out for four days before going to Hudson. We had a blast as we fished everyday off the dock at the campground. Ally did pretty well catching several sailcat's. I caught one fish and it was a black tipped shark and never caught another one. It was very small so I threw it back in but we did have a a lot of fun relaxing and fishing off the dock.

Things here at the resort haven't changed a bit. Everything is so green from all the rain though and we were happy to see our plants have done great while we were away. Scott, Bruce and Sandy were all happy to see us and likewise we enjoyed visiting with them also. When we arrived we were greeted with a downpour while trying to get the coach backed in, connected and set up. I do not mean a few sprinkles, I mean a big time downpour. I couldn't see anything and had no desire to mess with hooking up our electric service in the rain so I said screw it and waited till the rain stopped. Slowly but surely we are getting settled back in and I am getting my trailer all set up and ready to sew. I have several jobs waiting on me so I will be busy in a week or so trying to knock those projects out. I did get the bikes out and we took a ride to dinner on Saturday. Thankfully the rain held off long enough to get some riding in. It was real strange riding after being off the bikes for two months but it all came back to us after a few miles and the ride felt comfortable.

Overall my health is just OK. I am worn out completely by noon and have had very little energy to do anything. That's a shame as I have so much to do after being gone for so long. But I do what I can do with the energy I have. I contribute some of that to a high hemoglobin level, some to the heat and some to the poor condition of the bone marrow. Ally performed a phlebotomy on me at Carrabelle but it yielded poor results. She was only able to get 250 cc off me before the needle clotted off. She is going to try again and get 500 cc off me tomorrow. My hemoglobin is sky high at the moment so I need to get rid of some blood soon. I can feel the hyper viscosity as I am getting massive cluster headaches. Hopefully she can get me squared away this week. I know I will need another 500 cc phleb done after this one tomorrow to get me near my target range. Seems this disease never lets up with its demands for treatments and other crap. It all gets a little tiring after awhile. :(

I do not have to much more to add right now so will let this update end here. I will be back on in a week or so and update you again as to the latest and greatest. Until then, be safe in whatever your doing and get out there and enjoy life.

Sending my very best wishes to all of you,

Chris
