Latest News for the Month of
November 2008
It's November and that means one thing, election time. I myself cannot wait till these elections are over. I am so sick and tired of the Presidential election e-mails, propaganda and all the other BS that I would like to scream. I have theory on this election ( as well as all others ). They can say all they want, but once elected they will do whatever they want to do and continue to pander to the special interests. It doesn't matter if they are liberals, conservatives or moderates, they forgot about the voters and listen only to the lobbyists. I cannot wait till this election is over. My own feeling, both candidates suck. :)
I am wrapping up the end of my football season here with the high school. For those of you who did not know I took a coaches job with Ally's high school. I cannot even begin to say just how much fun it has been. The kids and the other coaches have been awesome to work with and have been so supportive. You can read more about it here on this special page I created. ( Click Here )
We got hit with a cold snap here in Florida and a couple nights brought frost on the windshields of cars. I went to bed one night and left all the windows opened in the coach. Poor Ally liked to have froze to death in the middle of the night. :) We have been running the heat in the morning to get the chill off and hopefully we will start to warm up again soon. They are predicting 70 plus temps for this weekend. Yeeehaaa.
Two weekends ago Ally, Scott ( one of my best buddies here in Florida ) and I rode to the Rattlesnake festival in San Antonio, FL and had a great time there. Lots of vendors and we also had a pancake breakfast at the local Catholic Church. Last weekend Ally, Bill ( another close friend of ours ) and myself took our bikes on a country ride. What awesome scenery. The roads we travel all have huge live oaks with spanish moss hanging down from them. The area is home to many cattle ranches as well, including the Bellamy Brothers ranch. We had a real good time and the ride was so relaxing. Bill lead us and he is an awesome leader when he has a group. He is smooth, sets a nice slow pace and keeps us bunched together well. I always feel safe with Bill leading. We have had some gorgeous weather to ride in lately.
On the health front, I am doing OK. I have experienced a great deal of pain with the latest round of chemo. For some reason I have also been experiencing more then my fair share of nausea and sickness. It seems I get hit every night with the nausea which is no fun at all. I have been taking ginger tablets and it really seems to help the nausea. I learned this from a friend of mine Stephanie who was using them during her pregnancy. Since its all natural I do not have to worry about it interfering with my other meds. I am still not at my therapeutic dose yet on the chemo and am waiting till the nausea subsides before going higher on the drug. I have enough sickness and pain at the moment and do not need anymore. :)
It's been fairly quiet here so not a lot to report. Several of our friends have made it here to the resort ( Jim and Mary and Bill & Kathy ). We were pretty sad though to see Bruce and Sandy move to Lake Okeechobee. We are going to really miss them as they have been awesome friends of ours.
I plan on taking a few rides in the near future to the bike / car show in Brooksville and will be taking some pictures of the cars. Once I get them I will post them here on my site.
I hope this finds you all doing well, happy and for my northern friends, getting ready for winter. Please do be safe, be happy and be healthy. Take good care of yourself and enjoy each and every day.
God Bless you all,
Chris
