Latest News for the Month of
October 2009
Yes, I finally got off my butt and wrote an update here. I completely missed September...sorry about that.
Actually I spend so much time on face book updating almost daily that I forget about this website. I know, its a pretty lame excuse. :)
So lets get started. The latest news is that I am finally making good progress on the kitchen remodel. I am about two weeks away from having it done which is awesome. Trust me when I say it cannot get done fast enough. I am so sick of not having a kitchen and being able to use the stove, etc. that I will probably be doing cartwheels when this remodel is finished. Ally and I finally agreed on the tile for the countertop so I can pick that up this week. Once this kitchen is done the next major remodel is the main bath. Hopefully it will go smoother and faster then the kitchen. :)
On the home front Ally has been buried in school work. That extra class this year makes a difference I guess. She does have another group of awesome students so she is real happy ( most of the time ). She is just now finishing up a mini vacation due to the school being closed down. They reopen on Monday, October 4th. They closed last Wednesday afternoon because of excessive absenteeism among the students. For those of you not aware, Florida has been hit hard by the Swine flu and this flu bug has run rampant at school.
The yard is coming along fine. Ally finished laying the patio stones down so we now have a proper patio to sit out on. I got the bird feeders installed finally and cleaned out the bird bath so the birds are having a good time. And I am still feeding my furry friends the rabbits every other night. They love the carrots I put out for them. Now if I can just get Tessa to stop chasing them. :) I finally got a handle on the pool chemicals and the chemistry is now stable. It's strange, I thought we would never use that stupid thing, but I am in the pool several days a week. I am going to be emptying it this winter so I can repaint the bottom and walls ( its an in ground cement pool ). All the rest of the outdoor work can wait till its cooler out and until re-enforcements show up - mainly my buddies from the North who will be arriving for the winter soon. :)
On the health front I am finishing up an awesome summer. I have had one of the best summers health wise that I have had in years. I think some of that was because I timed the chemo just right. Either way I enjoyed that great feeling I experienced. But like all good things it is coming to an end. I don't have a clue as to what is going on with my immune system or blood counts. My white cells have been very low and I have been picking up a lot of bugs lately. Ally performed a phlebotomy on me the other day and got 500 cc of that red stuff off me. The phleb went great and Ally did an awesome job. I will more then likely start back on chemo in November. I can see myself though extending that till after Christmas. :) I hate being on it during the holidays. If I can get my blood counts to stabilize a little then I ay try and push it till after the first of the year. If not then I will start up on it again.
I do not know how many of you are on Facebook, but if your on there, look me up. It's been awesome hooking up with old friends.
My wonderful son Lindy provided me with a blog to start using because thy are much easier to update. The problem is I haven't a clue as to how to get started building it and using it. The older I get the harder it is to deal with technology and I don't have the heart to ask Lindy for anymore help. I drive the kid nuts as it is and he is really busy with his own company. One of these days I am going to sit down and get figure it out and get started on it. I own a couple other domain names as well and want to get started building new web sites for those as well. All it takes is time and know how and lately I have have neither. :)
I hope this update finds all of you doing well. Drop me an e-mail when you get a chance and let me know how you are. ( chris@throgmartin.com ) There are several of you I haven't heard from in a long time. Here is hoping for a great fall season for you and your family. Stay safe, stay healthy and by all means stay happy.
God Bless
Chris
