Our New Property
I have always felt Real Estate is a sound investment. While you can gain better returns in the stock market at times, Real Estate overall is a much safer investment. With the sale of our main residence in Bristol we decided to purchase a new piece of property which is basically 5 acres of gorgeous wooded land. It is situated within the George Washington National Forest and is located 3 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway and 15 miles from Madison Heights, VA. This property is also located closer to Lindy and Natalia so we can stay close to the kids and grandkids.
The property is located within the Otter Creek Subdivision. All residents have a 5 acre parcel and under the covenants, no one is allowed to clear more then 20 % of their woods. This has helped preserve the natural surroundings of this community and has led to all the parcels remaining secluded.
So what are our future plans for this property ? We don't have a clue. We still have another home in Bristol which is our permanent residence and we have considered build on this land and possibly using it as our summer residence. Only time will tell. Stay tuned for future developments. :)
